We are seeking to hire a skilled and confident individual to be our new Activity Youth Worker. The role will assist our Senior Youth Worker in delivering our youth and community provision Community Ties during Term Time.
The Activity Youth Worker will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a wide range of activity for young people in years 5-7 as part of our Wednesday evening youth group. The Activity worker will also assist in running our ASDAN qualification short courses.
The role currently consists of 5.5 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage pay rate and is permanent subject to funding.
- Wednesday Youth Group: 3.5 hours per week which includes 1-hour planning time from home and 2.5 hours in person delivery.
- ASDAN: 2 hours per week which includes 0.5-hour planning time and 1.5 hours delivery time from home via Zoom.

Haxby Explore Library at Oaken Grove
On 7th September we welcomed Haxby Explore Library, who officially took up residence in Oaken Grove Community Centre. The library is currently open for drop-in browsing and borrowing, but they won’t be holding any in-person activities such as story times or reading groups yet. The Library is open 10:00am – 5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 10:00am -1:00pm on Saturdays. They are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
